UPTON - Walter Francis Costello, age 82, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on December 27, 2025. Walter was born on April 3, 1943, in Manchester, New Hampshire, to the late Walter and Mabel Costello.

Walter was an insurance executive by trade and took a great deal of pride in his work. Walter had a keen intellect and an incredible ability for trivia. Walter enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and was known for his dry sense of humor and his ability to bring laughter and joy to those around him.

Walter is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Gayle Costello; his children, Patricia Awan and husband Wasif Awan, Brian Costello and wife Catharine Whitfield; his four grandchildren Kyle Bisanti, Emily Bisanti, Brandon Costello and Drew Costello; and his sister Marilyn Hamilton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mabel Costello.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visiting hours on Thursday, January 15th from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM at Kelly Cremation and Funeral Care, 154 Lincoln Street in Worcester. A brief memorial service will follow at 5:00 PM at the funeral home.

Donations in Walter's name toward Parkinson's Disease research are greatly appreciated by the family.
