Thomas Weldon Roberts, Sr., 62, of Uxbridge, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026 at home surrounded by the people who loved him the most. Born July 30, 1963, in Attleboro and raised in Plainville, Tommy grew up on the family farm, where he learned early the value of hard work, the joy of being outdoors, and the importance of family. He spent countless hours alongside his grandparents, Weldon and Christine Lovely, forming bonds and memories that shaped the man he became.
A 1981 graduate of King Philip High School, Tommy followed his passion for engines and machinery to the Denver Diesel School in Colorado. He went on the build a long and respected career as a diesel and heavy-equipment mechanic – a trade that suited his hands, his mind, and his steady, dependable nature.
Tommy was the son of the late Chester A. Roberts and Sara “Ann” (Lovely) Roberts. He was a loving husband to Melissa (LeMay) Roberts, with whom he shared their daughter Krystallee, and her fiancé, Luis He was also the proud father of Thomas Jr. (TJ) and Lindsey, with his former wife Jacquelyn Gurn. His greatest joy was his granddaughter Sydney. He is survived by his brothers Gregory, William and his wife Heidi, and sister Jennifer and her husband Roy. He was predeceased by his brothers James and Steven. Tommy leaves behind a large extended family – including his step children, step granddaughter, nieces, nephew, cousins – and many close friends who will remember his humor, his loyalty and his willingness to help anyone who needed a hand. Tommy lived a life rooted in family, hard work, and simple, enduring values. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A memorial service for immediate family will be held on August 1, 2026, at the family farm. Burial will be private. A celebration of life is planned for 2027, with additional details to be announced. In lieu of flowers, please honor Tommy by revving your engines and doing a burn out in his memory.
