WORCESTER - Thomas Dobson, Jr. passed away on Christmas Day, 2025, at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. He was surrounded by his children and family.
Thomas was predeceased by his parents and by his former wife of 25 years, Loretta Wulforst of Huntington, Long Island, New York who passed away in 2021. He is survived by his four children, who were the pride of his life:
Holly St. Jean of Oxford, MA, her husband Jeff St. Jean, and their son Hunter St. Jean; Jason Dobson of Milbury, MA, his wife Lisa Dobson, and their children Hailey Dobson and Ethan Dobson; Jerome Dobson of Sterling, MA; and Justin Dobson of Worcester, MA, and his wife Francielle Dobson.
Thomas is also survived by his sister Sandra Carelli of Dudley, MA, her son Jonathan Carelli of Manchester, CT, and his partner Samantha Logue.
Originally born in Worcester, MA to Thomas Dobson Sr. and Rita Dobson, Thomas was a graduate of American School for the Deaf in Hartford, CT. He was a longtime member of the Worcester Deaf Club, where he found connection, friendship, and purpose. He gave his time and energy to the club for many years cherishing events like their annual Christmas party or Summer Picnic. Most recently, he served as a subcommittee member for the Center for Living and Working in Worcester, MA.
Thomas was a loving father and grandfather, a brother and son, and a strong member of the Deaf community. He loved Star Trek, Deaf history, and learning about his family lineage.
Thomas will be remembered for his strength, his loyalty to the Deaf community, and his deep love for his family. Family and community were central to his life.
Services will be held on Tuesday, January 6 at 11AM, at St Bernard Catholic Church of our Lady of Providence, 228 Lincoln Street, Worcester, MA 01605. Services will be accessible via American Sign Language and spoken English.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Thomas’s memory to the Worcester Deaf Club, Inc.
Arrangements are under the care of Kelly Cremation & Funeral Care, 154 Lincoln Street, Worcester.
