Steven M. Courtemanche, Jr.

ROCHDALE – Steven M. Courtemanche, Jr.(Chowda)(Stevo), 40, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. Born in Worcester and raised in Leicester, Steven was known for his adventurous spirit, and deep love for the outdoors.

He attended Leicester High School and later worked in the construction field where his skill and dedication were evident in every project he touched. Outside of work, Steven found his truest joy in nature—whether tracking Whitey, the elusive twelve-point buck, or hooking a lip at sea in search of the perfect catch. Hunting and fishing were not just hobbies; they were part of his soul.

Steven will be most remembered for the time he spent with his loved ones. His heart was rooted in family, and he cherished every moment shared with them. His presence brought laughter, warmth, and a dependable strength to all who knew him.

He leaves behind his parents Melissa A. (Lucia) Colby and James K. Colby of Rochdale; his father, Steven M Courtemanche, Sr. of Dudley; his maternal grandmother, Shirley Perron of Leicester; and his paternal grandmother, Gloria Courtemanche of Dudley. He is also survived by his step-sisters; his devoted partner, Alyssa Holmes of CT; and his lifelong friend, Justin Smith of East Brookfield. Many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins will also feel the loss of Steven’s generous and spirited presence.

He is predeceased by his grandfathers, Leo Courtemanche, Paul Lucia, and Robert Perron; his uncle, Randy Courtemanche; and his beloved cousin, Christina Gallo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at St. Aloysius- St. Jude Church, 489 Pleasant Street, Leicester. Burial will be private.

Steven’s memory will live on in the woods he roamed, the waters he loved, and in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
