Sis Margaret Gariepy

Fitchburg, MA. — Sis Margaret Ruth (Murray) Gariepy, 80, of Fitchburg, passed away peacefully at home from natural causes.

Born on January 30, 1946, at Lucy Helen Hospital in Fitchburg, she was the daughter of the late Francis L. and Marie (Breault) Murray. She graduated from Fitchburg High School and worked for many years at Digital Equipment Corporation as a Computer Tech II.

Sis cherished time with her family and enjoyed bingo, trips to the casino, dining out, and watching both scary movies and trivia game shows. She was known for her sense of humor, sharp sarcasm, and kindness toward others. Sis served as a Eucharistic Minister in Gardner and Haines City, FL. She volunteered for many years with Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

She leaves behind two sons, Al and Jim Gariepy, both of Fitchburg; a daughter, Lori (Gariepy) Matias; two grandsons, Pedro and Anthony Baez, both of Fitchburg; a granddaughter, Dakota Rae Gariepy; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

She was predeceased by her husband of 33 years, Vincent E. Gariepy, on March 7, 1998, and by her brothers Francis, Thomas, Bruce, and Edward Murray. She deeply loved her family.
