Winchendon

Paul J. Laprise, 61, of Winchendon, MA, passed away on June 15, 2026, at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.

Paul will forever be remembered for his unmistakable smile, quick laughter, and the spark of mischief that never left his eyes. He faced a long and difficult battle with addiction and Crohn’s disease, yet his true spirit was defined not by struggle, but by kindness, generosity, and an unwavering willingness to help others.

Born and raised in Winchendon, Paul built his life on hard work and grit. He was a natural with his hands — a skilled drywall worker who dedicated his life to doing practical, everyday construction work, home repairs, and fixing anything with a motor. His work ethic was matched only by his loyalty to the people he loved.

Paul leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and an unbreakable fighting spirit. Even in his hardest moments, he defied the odds, holding onto life with remarkable strength. His journey stands as a powerful reminder to never give up on those fighting addiction, and to meet every struggle with compassion.

He is survived by his two sons, Paul J. Laprise and Joshua R. Laprise, and by his six cherished grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy. He was predeceased by his parents, Jean B. Laprise Jr. and Elizabeth A. Laprise, whom he now joins in rest.

Paul is now at peace — free from pain, free from the battles he fought so bravely — riding down that open highway in the sky.
