OAKHAM - Paul W. (Howie) Howe, 66, passed away at home surrounded by family, after a long battle with lung cancer.

Born on April 16, 1959, in Worcester, Paul was the son of the late Warren W. and Louise (Ramsey) Howe of Shrewsbury. Paul was predeceased by his brother Allen R. Howe.

A proud and stubborn “jack of all trades,” Paul had a knack for fixing just about anything. Whether it was tinkering in the yard, working with his hands, or finding new ways to stir up a little trouble (or a lot- let’s be real), he was always on the move and always outside. Unfailingly dependable, if he said he’d be there or do something, he was there and the job got done. Nothing was ever too big or small. He freely gave more than he got. Paul never met a stranger, making friends wherever he went, welcoming all. He spoke his mind freely, never sugarcoating the truth, which sometimes made him tough to handle, but also made him undeniably real. What never wavered was his love for his family.

Paul leaves behind his three daughters and their families, Tara Howe-Loricco and her husband Rob, and their son Nicholas of Wheelwright; Tanya Pierce and her husband Myles, and their children Elijah, Corey, Finley, and Aurora of Randolph, VT; and Tasha Rondeau and her husband Torry, and their children Gabriella, Lilah, and Willow of Barre. Paul also leaves his nephew Dickie- who was like a brother to him; extended family; and many friends.

Paul’s memory will live on in the lives he touched, the lessons he passed down, and the fierce love he gave.

In true Howie style, a party will be had in his honor at a later date.
