Patricia Ann Turner

Holden

HOLDEN - Patricia Ann (Murray) Turner of Holden, formerly of Auburn, passed away as she wished, peacefully and painlessly at the Rose Monahan Hospice Center in Worcester Mass. on July 25, 2026. In the weeks leading up to this, Pat displayed her usual strength of character and uncomplaining nature. In her decision to enter hospice, she showed equally powerful acceptance, cooperation, and finally, peace. In her last days, she was visited by family, neighbors, and co-workers. A serene and satisfying end for all.

The gift of her life to her family and friends began with her birth on July 4, 1940, to Edwin V. and Dorothy C. (Rivers) Murray. Pat worked as an administrative assistant at the Simonian and Murray Law firm from September 1966 to June 2019. In addition to her professional talents, her famous personal touch transformed the place and its staff into a true family and family environment. This was noted and commented on by all who entered. She was equally famous for exquisite and whimsical gift wrapping. People would agonize over whether or not to unwrap her packaging as it was always a work of art. Complementing this skill, she was also a master card writer. Her words were always a thoughtful mix of heart and craft. Her penmanship is also worthy of note. Every card was a keeper. Her distinctive laughter could fill and transform a room and when she was joined in this by her beloved brother Alan, the laughter became contagious and others would instinctively join in having NO idea what they were laughing at.

In years past, Patricia loved travelling with her husband, spending time by the water, and many Turner family beach trips. In recent years, she enjoyed big Murray family vacations in Florida and the Outer Banks, as well as many joyous holidays. Always an avid reader...of everything, we learned, after her death, that she also wrote vivid short stories/ memoirs as well. And so, her words live on and can still touch us beyond the grave.

She is survived by her son Ambrose Roche III & his wife Isabella Smejda of Toronto, Canada, her grandson Ambrose Roche IV, granddaughter Giselle Smejda & her husband Warren Bodnaruk , her great granddaughters Clara and Margot, her niece Lynn Chevalier & her partner Michael Coffey of Holden, her niece Serena Zumpano and her great nephew Ryan Zumpano, her great niece April Rodrigues & her husband Tiago Rodrigues, great nephew Benjamin Chevalier, great niece Lindsay Rocheleau, great-great nieces Layla, Luna, Lianna and great-great nephew Marcello. She is also survived by her step- daughter Donna McNamara of Virginia, three step-grandchildren, and seven step-great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Donald F Turner and three brothers: Neil E. Murray, Alan A. Murray, and Gary V. Murray, her sister-in-law Patrica A. Murray, her niece Sheila (Murray-Rocheleau) McLaughlin, niece Jennifer Murray, and nephew Michael Murray.

The burial and celebration of life is private and will be held at later date. Arrangements are under the care of Kelly Cremation and Funeral Care in Worcester. www.kellycremation.com
