WORCESTER - Marta DeSourdis, aged 70, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on April 6, 2026, in Worcester, MA. Born on July 28, 1955 to Benjamin and Eunice Mojica in Jersey City, New Jersey, Marta dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting others, both through her professional work and within her family.

Marta graduated from Doherty Memorial High School and furthered her education at Becker College. She spent many years as a daycare provider, touching the lives of countless children with her warmth and kindness. Later, she also worked as an administrative assistant, where her organizational skills and caring personality made her a beloved colleague. However, she considered her role as a mother to be her greatest achievement.

Known for her loving and joyful spirit, Marta was a cornerstone of her family. For the latter half of her life she faced daunting medical diagnoses which would have caused many to despair, but met these challenges with humility and humor, and with strength, courage and resilience. She was a seamstress from an early age and created clothing for herself, husband and children, and later became an expert quilter and left dozens of beautiful quilts as treasured heirlooms. Marta cherished her time spent with her grandchildren, camping, enjoying peaceful moments on the lake, and surrounding herself with the ones she loved.

Marta is survived by her devoted husband, Richard DeSourdis of Charlton, MA; her daughters Nicole Bonaceto and her husband Paul, and their children Declan, Jacob, and Luca of Hopkinton, MA; Amira Townzen and her husband Troy, and their children Charlie and Oliver of Campbell, CA; her siblings, Eunice Fernandez, Miriam Reynoso, and Benjamin Mojica, along with many nieces and nephews.

A private celebration of life will be held with her family, honoring the incredible woman she was and the enduring impact she had on all who knew her. Her legacy of love and strength will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones.
