Maria D. Shackett

WORCESTER – Maria D. Shackett, 86, passed away on July 2, 2026. She is the loving wife of the late Edward G. Shackett, Jr.

Born and raised in Worcester, Maria is the daughter of the late James and Josephine (Cavalieri) Iannoli. She met her husband Edward and together they began a family.

A devoted homemaker and caregiver, Maria dedicated her life to raising her five children. She was an exceptional cook whose home and table were always open to family, friends, and neighborhood children, never turning away anyone in need. Guided by her deep Christian faith, Maria lived a life of compassion and selflessness, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her kindness, faith, and caring spirit will be fondly remembered.

Maria leaves behind her children, Scott Shackett and his wife Patricia of Whitinsville, Deborah Shackett and her partner Gary Tetreault of Millbury, Melissa Shackett-Astukewicz of Shrewsbury, and Lori Angell of Grafton; her sister Antoinette Lacerte; 8 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She is predeceased by her husband Edward, daughter Kim Marie Shackett, and brother Charles Iannoli.

Family and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, July 9th from 4:00pm – 6:00pm at Kelly Cremation and Funeral Care, 154 Lincoln Street in Worcester. A graveside service will be held the following day, Friday, July 10th at 11:00am at Fairview Cemetery, 380 Providence Road, South Grafton.
