Laura-Lee “Laurie” Gefvert, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her five children, at Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester on February 5, 2026.

She was born in Worcester on June 16, 1950, and was a graduate of Burncoat HighSchool. Laurie worked for UMass Memorial Health Care for 20 years before retiring in 2018. She greatly enjoyed watching birds, especially cardinals and was an avid Boston sports fan who never missed a game.

Laurie is survived by her husband, David Gefvert of Millbury; her daughter, Michelle Stone and her husband Timothy, of Stoughton; her son, Daniel Lavoie and his significant other, Harvest Dixon of Millbury; her son, Brian Lavoie and his wife Annie, of Sterling; her son, Brett Lavoie, of Quincy; her daughter, Jamie Kady and her husband Gary of Charlton, her brother Robert Leschke and his wife Carol; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was the proud grandmother to Evan Stone, Calissa Lavoie, Kyle Webber, Hannah Stone, Reese Kady, Carter Lavoie, Gage Lavoie, Colton Kady, Paige Lavoie and Aubree Lavoie.

Laurie was predeceased by her sister, Mildred Bilbilian.

In accordance with Laurie’s wishes, services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Birding Association.
