Kathy A. Hokanson

SPENCER – Kathy (Giroux) Hokanson, 61, died on Sunday, September 7, 2025, in her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born on august 20, 1964 in Ware to the late George and Shirly (Reim) Giroux.

She graduated from Millbury Highschool, class of 1982. She married her high school sweetheart, Carl Hokanson. They moved on to journey while Carl was serving his country and had their two children, Richard and Eric. She spent many years at home raising her sons before she began waitressing and shortly after, became the manager, a title she held for many years.

She is predeceased by her husband of 29 years, Carl Hokanson, her parents George and Shirly Giroux.

Kathy is survived by her sons, Richard S. Hokanson and Eric W. Hokanson, her five sisters, Wendy Millett, Sandra Giroux, Michelle Giroux, Sheila Agbay and Bonita Giroux, her four brothers, George Giroux, Paul D. Giroux, Christopher Giroux and John Giroux and her beloved dogs, Iko Iko and Viola.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Kelly Cremation and Funeral Care, 154 Lincoln Street Worcester from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

A message from Kathy and her family, “Don’t grieve for me, celebrate the life I lived now I am following the path God laid out for me. Father we entrust our sister to your mercy, you loved her greatly in this life. Know that she is freed from all the chains called life. Know that four winds blew me safely home and I am your angel standing in a shaft of light.
