Josefina Barone

Josefina "Josie" Barone (née Moreno), age 84, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025, in Auburn, Massachusetts.

Born on September 29, 1940, in Isabella, Puerto Rico, Josie brought warmth and joy into the world from the very beginning. She carried that same light throughout her life, touching the hearts of all who knew her with her radiant smile and kind personality. 

Josie worked as a seamstress until her retirement in 1977. Her dedication to her craft reflected her meticulous nature and strong work ethic. Whether threading a needle or stitching a hem, she poured care and precision into everything she did. 

She was the proud mother of four children: Tommy, Lucia, Karen, and Sylvia. Her family continued to grow with the addition of her daughter-in-law Mariangely and son-in-laws David, and Dan. Josie’s legacy lives on through her 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense pride and joy to her life.  Josie was predeceased by her beloved mother Cruz and her adored sister Gloria. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.

Known for being the life of the party, Josie had an infectious energy that could lift any room. She was always smiling and laughing—her joy was contagious. A fantastic dancer, she never missed a chance to move to the rhythm of music, often becoming the center of attention with her graceful steps and vibrant spirit. Her presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
