In Loving Memory of James Paul Hantzis

James Paul Hantzis, 73, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, leaving behind a family who will forever cherish the memories they shared.

Jim was a devoted father to his daughters, Sophia and Grace, who were the greatest source of pride and joy throughout his life. Becoming a father gave Jim a deep sense of purpose, and his daughters remained at the center of his heart. More recently, he was blessed with the arrival of his granddaughter, Mila, whom he adored. Though their time together was brief, Jim often expressed how grateful he was to have the opportunity to meet her and hold her. Becoming her Papou was one of life's greatest gifts, and the moments they shared will always be treasured.

Jim will be remembered for his caring, giving and affectionate personality. He had a natural charm and a silly sense of humor. He loved unconditionally and taught others to do the same. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer thoughtful advice, or simply listen during times of need. Jim lived in the present and appreciated the simple things such as a strong shot of espresso, the sun on his skin, a quality meal or lounging around the house with family. He would say, count your blessings, and he lived by that motto.

Throughout his life, Jim worked hard and spent many years as a businessman and restaurant owner. His love of food extended far beyond the kitchen—it was one of the ways he connected with others. He found joy in sharing meals with family, preparing high quality food for the people he loved, frequenting his favorite restaurants for fish and chips, and discussing every detail of a memorable meal. He enjoyed thoughtful conversations, especially those that explored life's deeper questions, and he valued meaningful connections with the people around him.

Jim’s greatest legacy is not found in the things he owned or the accomplishments he achieved, but in the love he gave so freely. He will be remembered as a devoted father, a proud Papou, a beloved brother, and a loyal friend whose compassion, strength, and gentle nature left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Jim is survived by his loving daughters, Sophia and Grace; his cherished granddaughter, Mila; his siblings, Peter, Sam, and Joyce, and their spouses, Terry, Connie, and Charlie; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Kiki, and his brothers, Ted and Nick.

Though he is no longer with us, his love, laughter, and the memories he created will remain in our hearts forever. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
