Ismael Mercado Astor

Worcester - Ismael Mercado Astor, better known as “Bebo”, was born on December 31, 1983, to parents, Senaida Astor and Ismael Mercado Del Valle, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. He found his passion in cars, and graduated from Superior Vocational Antonio Lucchetti to become a mechanic. He enjoyed fixing cars and upgrading them.

Ismael was blessed with a very large, loving family. He married the love of his life, Ireida Montanez, on their home island of Puerto Rico. The two of them have been together since June 6, 2004, and were married October 6, 2006. He was a loving father of five children whom he raised and provided for, all the way into adulthood and even after. Whatever they needed, he was always there, even if it was just for a loving hug or kiss on the forehead; he taught them all how to survive and the skills he learned in mechanics and in carpentry.

He was truly a jack of all trades, a man who knew how to fix anything with the right tools. He loved to travel, and vacationed in many places around the world with his family. He was a pure, kind and gentle soul. A father to all who would come around him, who had nothing but love to share.

He is survived by his wife Ireida Montanez, his five loving children, and his siblings.

Services are being handled by Kelly Cremation and Funeral Care and will be private at the request of the family.
