Evelyn (Young) Rudy

WORCESTER - Evelyn (Young) Rudy, age 88, passed away peacefully at home in her sleep on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.

Born and raised in Winchendon, Massachusetts, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Jane (Fisher) Young. She attended Winchendon public schools and dedicated her life to caring for her family as a devoted homemaker.

Evelyn’s warmth and generous spirit touched many lives. She was not only a loving mother and grandmother, but also opened her heart and home as a foster mother to numerous children over the years. Her passions included working with ceramics, collecting toys, and listening to Elvis Presley, whose music brought her great joy.

She is survived by her children: Dan Rudy and his wife Debra of New Hampshire, Jonas Rudy and his wife Elaine of Kentucky, Johnny Rudy of Worcester, Vickie Borey of Worcester, Jane Sielis and her husband Peter of New York, Jamie Ball and her husband Shawn of New Hampshire, and Jackie Rudy of Worcester. She also leaves behind her beloved siblings, Clifford Young of Southbridge and Sandra Dellasanta of Winchendon.

Evelyn was a proud grandmother to many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and great-great-great grandchildren. She was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers John, Truffle, Clem, Henry, and Joe, as well as her sisters Justine, Laretta, Lillian, and Theresa. Evelyn is also predeceased by her son Wayne Rudy and her daughters Theresa Rudy and Carmen Rudy.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Kelly Cremation and Funeral Care, 154 Lincoln Street, Worcester. A Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. All who knew and loved Evelyn are warmly invited to attend.
