Evelyn P. Messier

Worcester - Evelyn Patricia (Harris) Messier, passed away peacefully at the age of 93 at home with her loving husband by her side. Born on August 1, 1932, in Worcester, she was the beloved daughter of the late George Patrick and Emma Alice (Vient) Harris.

Evelyn married the love of her life, Francis L. Messier. Together they shared 70 happy years devoted to their family and one another.

She leaves her four loving children; David F. Messier and his wife, Susan, of East Brookfield; Linda P. LaMalva and her husband, Joseph, of Wareham; Daniel J. Messier and his wife, Kathleen, of Ludlow; and Cynthia A. Messier and her companion, Sandra Jean-Louis, of Worcester.

Evelyn was the cherished grandmother of David W. Messier, Jonathan A. Messier and his wife, Elizabeth, Kevin J. LaMalva and his wife, Kirsten, Sarah Messier, Rachel Messier and her partner, Anthony, Renee P. King and her husband, Ryan, Rebeccah Poulin and her husband, Daniel, Julie Messier and her partner, Nate, Jacob T. Messier and his wife, Isabel and Jarod L. Messier. She was also the proud great-grandmother of Caroline, Ethan, Finn, Isabelle, Natalie, Leila, Jason, Audrey, Parker, Piper, and Corey.

She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Ann Whitney of Worcester.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was predeceased by her brothers, John J. Harris, Edward J. Harris, and G. Robert Harris; and her sisters, Lillian M. Soderberg, Charlotte M. Harris, Nell E. Fahy, Leoda I. Frappier, and Louise C. Hadley.

Evelyn was a graduate of Commerce High School in Worcester. She began her career with Norton Company in the Order Services Department before later working in accounting for Coastal Energy.

A devoted parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Evelyn lived a life centered on faith, family, and kindness. She especially loved entertaining family and friends, creating lasting memories around her table. A talented cake decorator and gifted poet, she also enjoyed traveling and had a beautiful love of singing. Her warm spirit, generous heart, and unwavering love for her family will be remembered by all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026 at Kelly Cremation and Funeral Care, 154 Lincoln St., Worcester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28th at Our Lady of the Rosary, 23 Fales St., Worcester. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster St., Worcester.
