Dorothy Ann Wolferseder

LEOMINSTER – Dorothy Wolferseder, 87, of Leominster and formerly of Mashpee, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, after a long illness, surrounded by the comfort and love of her family.

Dorothy was born in Leominster, Massachusetts, the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Novelli. She was a proud graduate of Leominster High School and went on to attend Becker Junior College, where she earned her associate degree.

A dedicated professional, Dorothy spent 20 years working with Digital Equipment Corporation, followed by a decade of service at the Registry of Motor Vehicles, before ultimately retiring to the Cape. Dorothy’s vibrant sense of style and passion for fashion naturally led her to Hannoush Jewelers, where she spent an additional 10 years working alongside Mustapha Akkawi, his brother Sal, and their family, who warmly embraced her as one of their own.

Fifteen years ago, when Dorothy fell ill and faced the urgent need for a kidney transplant, her former daughter-in-law, Erica Arsenault, selflessly answered the plea with simple, profound words: “Mom, my kidney is your kidney.” Because of this incredible gift of life, Dorothy was blessed with 15 beautiful bonus years.

Dorothy’s greatest joy was found by the ocean. She and Dieter shared countless memorable summers with family and friends on the Cape, boating out to Washburn Island and Martha’s Vineyard. Dorothy will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her radiant smile, exquisite style, kind heart, quick wit, exceptional grace, and unwavering devotion to her family.

She leaves behind her devoted children: her son, Scott A. Wolferseder, and his wife, Shelley; her daughter, Kimberly R. Landine, and her husband, Kenneth; and her daughter, Shelley A. Dupre’, and her husband, David, all of Fitchburg.

She was the beloved grandmother of Lindsey, Amanda and her husband, Ryan LaVache; Scotty and his fiancée, Maddie; Nicole and her husband, Hugh Ford; Christian and his wife, Katie; PJ and his fiancée, Olivia; Kristy; and Victoria. She was also a loving step-grandmother to Nathan and Jake Debitetto

She also leaves behind her adored great-grandson, Owen.

Dorothy was reunited in peace with her beloved husband of 60 years, Dieter, and her two sons who predeceased her: her eldest, DJ Wolferseder, and her youngest, Darren Wolferseder.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Highlands Nursing Home in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, for the outstanding care they provided to our mother, especially Mark, Julie, Hannah, Raphael, and the countless others who cared for her during the most difficult times.

A special thank you is extended to the doctors and staff at UMass Memorial Medical Center, including Dr. Archibald and Dr. Aulet, as well as the Cancer Center, formerly known as Burbank Hospital, and Dr. Hartford, Colleen, Brian, and the countless others who assisted with our mother’s care.

Dorothy’s life was a beautiful testament to love, family, resilience, and grace. She will remain forever in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.

Calling hours will be held at Kelly Cremation & Funeral Care, 154 Lincoln St, Worcester, MA on Monday, August 24th from 11:00am - 1:00pm. A memorial service will follow at 1:00pm in the funeral home.
