Deborah Ann Davey, born December 7, 1949, passed away at her home in Sutton, MA on Nov 20, 2025. Born and raised on the South Shore of Massachusetts, Deborah lived a life marked by courage, resilience, and an unwavering devotion to those she loved.Deborah was formerly married to the late Charles Wellesley Davey, and together they shared two children, Michael James Davey and Michelle Nicola Davey, both of Taunton, MA. She was a loving sister to Trace Mckay, and the cherished daughter of Marilyn B. Mckay and the late William Mckay, who lovingly raised her. She is also predeceased by her father Charles D. Thompson.
Deborah dedicated much of her early life to raising her children, but in her 40s she set her sights on a new challenge—earning her tractor-trailer license. She went on to drive cross-country for Brock’s Trucking, sending postcards home from the road and embracing the freedom and experience that adventure brought her.
When she returned home to help care for her mother, Deborah settled in Weymouth, Massachusetts. She returned home to be close to family. Never done learning, she earned an associate’s degree from Quincy College. She later became a store manager for Select Comfort, a role she took great pride in. She retired in Sutton, Massachusetts.She leaves behind her grandchildren, Jesse N. Davey and Michael L. Davey; and her great-grandchildren, Sophia A. Adams, Shawn M. Davey, Jackson J. Davey, and the newest addition to the family, Ryan Cain Davey. She played an especially meaningful role in helping to raise her grandson Michael, something she considered one of the greatest joys of her life.Deborah loved animals deeply, especially her cats. She was predeceased by Puddles, and faithfully accompanied in her later years by Duchess (Dutch). She also leaves behind dear friends, many of whom she cared for as family.Deborah was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and loyal friend. Her life was defined by love, compassion, and a willingness to reinvent herself when necessary. She will be profoundly missed.
A celebration of Deborah’s life—and what would have been her 76th birthday—will be held on December 7, 2025, in the community room at 5 Church Street, Sutton, MA, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.In lieu of flowers, donations in Deborah’s memory may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Hospital, an organization she held very dear to her heart.
