Southbridge, MA

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel Leighton, a father, son, brother, and friend, who peacefully left this world on August 13, 2026, surrounded by his family at his home after a long battle with cancer. Born on October 24, 1965, in Bangor, Maine, Daniel's life was a testament to resilience, love, and unyielding passion for the things he held dear.

Daniel was the beloved son of Florence Hence and the late Irving Leslie (Hezzie) Leighton. Daniel was also predeceased by his brother, Peter Alan Leighton, and his niece, Amanda Gendreau Leighton.

A devoted father, Daniel is survived by his loving daughter Stephanie Kubicki. He also leaves behind his mother, Florence, whose strength and support were a constant source of comfort throughout his journey.

He also leaves behind his siblings, Jennifer Cummings (Leighton), Mark Leighton, Roxanne Bushey, and Brian Curboy (Leighton). He also shared a special bond with his dogs, Shadow & Stormy who were his faithful companions.
Daniel's life was all about the good times, filled with family and friends. Though he had no grandchildren, he cherished his many nieces and nephews, holding them close to his heart and delighting in their growth and accomplishments.

An adventurer at heart, Danny spent his life working his passion, working as a baker for years but spending many more as a tree cutter. Daniel found joy with the simple things in life. His favorite hobby was riding his three-wheeler and his passion for fishing and clamming in Maine brought him great happiness.

Memorial services will be held September 13th at 11AM to honor Daniel's life and legacy. Friends and Family welcome.
