WORCESTER: Clarence F. "Sam" Sampson, 88, formerly of 161 West Mountain St. , died Saturday, October 28, 2006 in University Commons. His wife of 48 years, Theresa (Boulmetis) Sampson, died November 25, 2004. He leaves four nephews, Charles A. Boulmetis, Charles G. Delaney, Jr. , Eugene Delaney, Ronald O'Connor, and several great nieces and great nephews. His sister, Florence O'Connor and his brother, Millard Sampson, both predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Douglas F. and Harriet E. (Dunn) Sampson. He lived in Shrewsbury for many years before returning to Worcester. He graduated from Shrewsbury High School and was a Marine Corps Veteran of World War II. Sam was an oil burner serviceman and manager of the service department at Marrone Petroleum in Worcester where he worked for 25 years. He was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, its Senior Parishioners Group, and was an avid golfer. He and his wife Theresa received a special commendation from the Diocese called "The Laity Award". CALLING HOURS will be from 5 to 7 p. m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A Trisagion service will be held during the calling hours. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 9 a. m. on Thursday, Nov. 2, in ST. SPYRIDON GREEK ORTHODOX CATHEDRAL, 102 Russell St. , followed by burial in Hope Cemetery. The family suggests donations in Sam's memory be made to the St. Spyridon Cathedral Family Center, 102 Russell St. , Worcester, MA 01609.
