Arpad Garamy

WESTBOROUGH - On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, Arpad Garamy passed away peacefully with friends and family by his side. The day before and earlier that day, friends and family gathered to say their heartfelt goodbyes.

Arpad’s parents emigrated from Hungary and Arpad was born a couple of years later in Queens, NY on October 8, 1959. His family then moved to Elmont, NY in 1964. He Graduated from Elmont Memorial High School. He was on the track team, where he competed in the shot put.

He briefly attended Nassau Community College, and Northeastern University. He then also attended Worcester State studying Urban Studies.

He was a truck driver for a time. Later, he especially enjoyed the friends he made while working as an EMT.

This was a man who loved a good ‘dad’ joke (circa 1975) and was a true ‘foodie’, especially when it came to Chinese food. He loved animals especially his precious Joy, a well fed Black Lab.

Arpad leaves behind his children, Sarah, Zachary, Alicia, Alex, and Elvira, his dear friends, especially Rose and Tom, and his sister, Elizabeth.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
