Aldei Leger

Aldei Leger, 81, of Leominster, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family.

Aldei was born on May 10, 1945, in Bouctouche, New Brunswick, Canada, the son of the late Phillip and Emerise Leger. In 1964, he came to the United States, where he began building his life and making a lasting home for himself and his family. Aldei worked for Haartz Corpoation in Acton, Mass for 38 years. He dedicated many years of hard work and service to the company before retiring in 2007.

Aldei leaves his beloved wife of 59 years, Gisèle (Doiron) Leger, the love of his life. His family was always his number one priority, and he cherished the time he spent with them. He leaves his daughters, Lisa Cormier and her husband, Stephen, and Linda Michaud and her husband, Michael; his beloved grandsons, Corey Cormier, Bryce and Cameron Vitone; and his cherished great-grandson, Mason Vitone.

He is also survived by his brothers, Valmond Leger and his partner, Dianne, and Roger Leger and his wife, Ginette; his sister, Florence (Leger) LeBlanc, and her husband, Paul; along with his extended family and friends who will cherish his memory. Aldei was predeceased by his brother, Raymond Leger, and his sister, Phyllis (Leger) Hebert. 

Aldei was a proud member of the Franco American War Veterans Club for 60 years. He especially loved watching his grandsons play sports and was always their number one fan, proudly cheering them on. His family brought him his greatest joy, and the love and memories he created with them will live on forever.

The family would like to sincerely thank Burbank Oncology, The Infectious Disease Team at UMass Memorial, and Brookhaven Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Aldei’s illness.

Aldei will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. His greatest legacy will always be the love he had for his family and the beautiful memories they shared together.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 3rd, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia’s church in Leominster, Mass followed by burial at St. Cecilia’s Cemetery. Aluncheon will immediately follow at the Leominster Franco American War Veterans Club, 300 Water Street, Leominster.
